Who are the contributing authors of the textbook?

Ali has always been actively involved in the development and evolution of the Politics and Law course in Western Australia. She has been heavily involved with the Political and Legal Educators Association of WA (PLEAWA) since 2005 where she has taken on the challenging roles of President and more recently in 2016 as Vice President of the association. She has also been a member on the PAL Course Advisory Committee since 2012.
Cheryl O’Connell studied at Murdoch University gaining a Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts, History and Political Science, with studies in the Environmental Science.
She is an experienced teacher of Politics and Law, having taught for 18 years in secondary schools in Western Australia. She is currently Second in Charge of Learning Area at Melville Senior High School, Senior Teacher in Politics and Law.
Cheryl has been actively involved in the Politics and Law Association for many years in the role of Treasurer and then a General Committee Member.
Worked with SCSA during the development of the Western Australian Curriculum focusing on the concepts of Civics and Citizenship a precursor to Politics and Law in ATAR.
Cherie Russell initially studied at the University of Western Australia gaining a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Political Science, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education. In 2006 she returned to tertiary study whilst on maternity leave to complete her Masters in Educational Leadership.
She is an experienced teacher of Politics & Law, having taught the course for 19 years in secondary schools (Years 8-12) in Western Australia. In particular, she enjoys starting Politics and Law as a subject to be offered in High Schools and developing its popularity amongst students.
She is proud to have achieved this in three different schools, both in regional and metropolitan WA. Cherie has been actively involved in WACE marking and consultancy for Politics and Law and she is currently the Dean of Students and Head of Humanities at Carmel School in Dianella.
