Event: Human Rights in Australia and Beyond

Programme: Human rights practitioners from the legal profession presenting 45min sessions which specifically address the Year 12 Politics and Law (PAL) syllabus items identified below and a panel discussion to close the event.
2016 Yr 12 ATAR PAL Syllabus Items of Relevance: the ways human rights are protected in Australia, including in the Constitution, common law, statutory rights, and charter of rights, such as the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 (Victoria) and the Human Rights Act 2004 (Australian Capital Territory), the ways human rights are protected in one other country and the status of international covenants, protocols and treaties in protecting human rights in Australia.
